Ultra-small lunar rover LEV-1 wins technology award from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers

The LEV-1 ultra-small lunar rover, a forerunner project in which multiple members of the Moonshot Kunii Project took part, received an FY2024 technology award from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. The award was announced on Friday, March 14, 2025.

The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Award is a prestigious prize established in 1958 (Showa 33) with the aim of “encouraging the advancement of mechanical engineering and industry in Japan.” This year’s award ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Minato Ward, Tokyo.
