Hands-on remote control sessions with swarm robots at the Chuo University Open Campus
2024.8.22
On Wednesday, August 7 and Thursday, August 8, 2024, the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Chuo University held an open campus event. To introduce the research laboratory of Professor Masaharu Kunii, our project manager, the swarm robots being developed under the project also took part. This time we set up the swarm robots to be controlled one unit at a time through remote control, and the visiting high school students were able to move them around freely.
The LEV-1 exploration rover that was on board the SLIM lander that went to the moon in January was developed by the Kunii Lab. After explaining this, the participants were surprised to learn that the actual robots on hand were successors to the LEV-1 rover. The participants were able to freely move the robots forward, back, left and right, experiencing the essence of robot development.
