Junior high and high school students experience swarm robot programming at Chuo University Science Seminar 2024

On Thursday, August 22, 2024, Chuo University Science Seminar 2024 was held at the Korakuen Campus in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. This is an event designed to give junior high and high school students hands-on experience with cutting-edge science and technology.

Ten junior high and high school students also took part in “small robot programming” in the lab of Professor Kunii, our project manager. The students experienced creating programs directing the movements of the swarm robots developed as part of the project, simulating the actions that will actually take place on the lunar surface to transport spherical containers.

As part of the session, the students practiced writing programs to replicate the actions that will be taken in lunar exploration targeted for 2030, giving them first-hand experience with the cutting-edge of robotics technologies.
