The MS KUNII Project special will be broadcast!BS Nippon TV’s “Galileo X” (Thu. 5/21 & Thu. 5/28)

The research activities of the MS Kunii Project will be featured in the science documentary program Galileo X, broadcast on BS Nippon Television on Thursday, May 21.
The program highlights a project focused on lunar exploration and the construction of activity bases using “small swarm robots.” Rather than relying on increasingly sophisticated individual robots, the project pursues a unique and innovative research concept in which large numbers of robots with simple functions cooperate to achieve a common goal. The documentary reports on this concept and the cutting edge of its development.

Episode Title: “Small Swarm Robots Head to the Moon: A Reverse-Thinking Approach to Exploration and Base Construction”

Program Content
This episode explores Unit’s challenge of using a “reverse-thinking approach” to build a base inside lunar lava tubes—vast underground tunnels on the Moon that are attracting attention as a new frontier for humanity.

The program explains “network intelligence,” a system in which robots think collectively as a swarm and can evolve and grow autonomously. It also introduces a wide range of research activities, including control systems, communications, and robot mechanisms, as well as demonstration experiments aimed at practical application in a “space exploration field.”
